I KNOW WHAT IT MEANS AND I CAN SPELL IT

It's our theory that if students
know the meaning of words, and they can spell those words, they certainly will
be able to read those words. With this in mind, we've come up with a
series that handles spelling and vocabulary by word families. This method
allows for the grouping of fairly simple words with more difficult words. This way you can
introduce your students to vocabulary suited for the upper grades, while
reinforcing the spelling they should have learned in the third grade. For
example, they’ll learn all the commonly used words that are spelled with -erse,
-urse, or -orse. Included in that word family, for example are purse,
worse, reimburse, and rehearse. The students are not likely to know
the meaning of reimburse; therefore, it becomes a vocabulary word as well
as a spelling word. Mastering word meaning is emphasized as much as mastering
the spelling. Each unit is very repetitive, reviewing the words over and
over. Priced for clearance.
