Kids In Between is a publisher and distributor of educational materials. The company was formed almost 30 years ago because we felt there were plenty of materials for low functioning students, and there were plenty of materials for students functioning on level. What we felt was missing from the market were materials for the "kids in between," or older students who couldn’t quite handle a standard textbook; that were written at about the fourth grade level; that didn’t make too many assumptions as to what students should have previously learned; and that were repetitious with instructions and information presented in smaller, more simplified doses.
Our customers include regular and special education teachers at elementary, middle, junior and senior high schools as well as teachers in alternative schools, charter schools, ABE programs, voc-tech schools and prisons. Teachers working with at-risk students and resource room students have also used our materials.
A word about our materials . . .
They do not have any moving parts, they are not in color, and they are as boring as every other publisher’s materials. We just admit it. There’s no way of knowing if our materials will work with your students. If our materials work with your students, we’re happy for you, them, and us. If the materials don’t work, send them back.
You may FAX or mail your order to us. For FAX orders, we accept purchase orders or credit cards (VISA or MASTERCARD only). Please have credit card number and expiration date available.
For mail orders, we accept personal checks or money orders. Most deliveries take from 3-5 business days. Please add a minimum of $7 for shipping and handling. For orders over $70, please add 10%.
We just want to add that many of you long-time customers have noticed that our online version has shrunk. Indeed it has. We no longer carry materials from other companies. We have downsized to remain in business, competitive with other companies and to keep our prices down, while other costs have continued to rise. We apologize in advance if this concerns you but we want you to know that we will continue to try to give you down-to-earth materials that stress the basics--not how to fill in dots on a standardized test. If you need help finding materials to do that we will offer up what information we have so you can order materials from that company. Meanwhile our materials will teach your students how to multiply, divide, what a verb is, how to write a sentence....well, you get the picture.
Unless otherwise stated, you can figure that all our materials are written for adolescents or young adults who are reading at about 4.0.
